Anarock to develop 20 acre in Kolkata

Anarock Property Consultants' land division recently announced the culmination of a deal for 20 acres of land at Kolkata's 262-acre Batanagar township in the Maheshtala area. The deal will result in two residential projects of 2 million sq ft, each along the riverfront and the golf course.

The joint venture between development management partner Ambuja Neotia Group and Hiland Group includes 10 acres of land along the golf course and another 10 acre at the Calcutta Riverfront. Bata India Ltd is the landlord in both instances.

The two groups will develop 12 residential towers (G+13) with approximately two thousand units along the golf course. While the riverfront project is currently being planned and further project specifications will be announced by the company soon.

According to the company news release, the location and timing of this deal are fortuitous, coming at a time when considerable pent-up demand for affordable housing is hitting in Kolkata after the prolonged lockdown.
