Armacell expands APAC push for fire safety and energy efficiency

Armacell has expanded its engagement with industry stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region to promote energy efficiency, sustainability and improved fire-safety practices in the built environment.

At the centre of this initiative is the ArmaLive Experience Centre in Singapore, which serves as a regional hub for technical training, product demonstrations and industry collaboration. The facility supports engineers, consultants, contractors, installers and regulatory professionals in addressing evolving performance-based compliance requirements related to energy efficiency, sustainability and fire safety.

The company is also supporting the region's gradual transition from the legacy BS 476 fire classification standard to the EN 13501-1 framework, which places greater emphasis on smoke performance during building fires. According to Armacell, the transition aims to improve fire-engineering practices by enabling better assessment of material behaviour and system performance.

As part of its product portfolio, the company highlighted ArmaFlex Ultima, developed using its ArmaPrene technology. The insulation material achieves Euroclass B-s1,d0 fire classification and is designed to generate significantly lower smoke emissions than conventional elastomeric insulation, making it suitable for applications such as escape routes, mechanical services and other critical building areas.

The ArmaLive Experience Centre offers product knowledge sessions, energy and acoustic audits, hands-on installation training, and live demonstrations covering insulation selection, fire-performance criteria and installation best practices. The programmes are intended to improve installation quality, system performance and regulatory compliance while strengthening technical capability across the region.

Armacell is also collaborating with professional associations, technical organisations and public-sector bodies through seminars, technical exchanges and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support higher standards in insulation specification, building performance and fire safety.

Headquartered in Luxembourg, Armacell manufactures flexible insulation materials, engineered foams, aerogel technology and passive fire protection systems, with operations spanning 26 production facilities across 20 countries.
