DP World Launches Swasthya Kendra for Truckers

DP World has launched its flagship Swasthya Kendra in Gujarat, marking the first step in a nationwide initiative to build wellbeing hubs for India’s trucking community.
The 7,000 sq ft facility, located near the Mundra International Container Terminal, is designed as an integrated support centre offering healthcare services, preventive screenings, rest areas, sanitation facilities, and assistance with welfare schemes.
Developed in partnership with Plan International India, the programme aims to address critical gaps in healthcare access, financial security, and social support for truck drivers and their families. India’s trucking sector, which handles over 70 per cent of freight movement, continues to face challenges linked to working conditions and limited access to essential services.
The initiative is part of DP World’s broader plan to build a nationwide network of such centres, targeting support for up to one million truckers. Complementing the physical infrastructure, the company has also introduced a mobile platform offering access to health services, navigation tools, and safety resources.
The programme reflects a growing focus within the logistics sector on integrating social infrastructure with supply chain development, recognising workforce wellbeing as critical to operational efficiency and long-term resilience.
