Garuda Aerospace Hosts Defence Officers at New Chennai Facility

Garuda Aerospace, backed by M.S. Dhoni, hosted officers from the College of Defence Management (CDM), Hyderabad, at its newly inaugurated manufacturing facility in Chennai. The visit underscored the growing collaboration between India’s defence sector and its emerging drone industry, highlighting the role of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in modern defence operations.

Officers and trainees toured the Drone Assembly and Quality Assurance Zone, R&D and Simulation/Testing Rooms, and the RPTO Training Facility. They gained exposure to Garuda’s production, simulation, and pilot training protocols essential for defence use.

The company showcased its advanced UAV portfolio, including the G500 for reconnaissance, Swarm Drones for multi-drone missions, UGV for terrain operations, Agri Drone with dual-use capabilities, Droni for surveillance, Canister Dropping Drone for payload delivery, Solar Panel Cleaning Drone, and Delivery Drone for logistics.

Union Minister of State for Defence Shri Sanjay Seth had recently inaugurated the facility, unveiled five new UAVs for defence and disaster response, launched the Garuda Raksha Udaan 2025 Impact Book, and announced free drone training for soldiers’ widows along with Remote Pilot Certification for defence personnel.

“This initiative bridges a crucial gap between defence management education and real-world applications of drone technology. Our objective was to equip India’s future defence leaders with advanced knowledge and practical insights that align with the nation’s evolving security requirements,” said Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace.

The visit also highlighted industry-academia collaboration opportunities to accelerate defence technology advancements and strengthen India’s UAV ecosystem. As investor and brand ambassador, M.S. Dhoni—an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army—continues to support Garuda’s mission to align drone innovation with defence needs.
