Steel Ministry Launches Special Campaign 5.0

The Ministry of Steel and its Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will participate in Special Campaign 5.0, to be observed from October 2 to 31, 2025. This year’s campaign will place renewed emphasis on scientific e-waste management, adoption of mechanised cleaning, and efficient grievance redressal, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to Swachhata and sustainability.

During Special Campaign 4.0 in October 2024, the Ministry achieved significant progress in file disposal, space optimisation, and clearance of pending matters. These efforts established a framework for sustainable record management and improved service delivery. Since then, continuous steps have been taken to streamline scrap disposal, weed out outdated records, and address grievances more effectively.

Building on this foundation, Special Campaign 5.0 will focus on four priority areas:
  • E-Waste Management: Promoting scientific disposal of electronic waste in line with environmental standards.
  • Mechanised Cleaning: Expanding use of modern cleaning systems to enhance workplace hygiene.
  • Timely Disposal of Pendency: Addressing references from PMO, State Governments, Parliament, and VIP matters alongside systematic record clearance.
  • Awareness and Engagement: Leveraging digital platforms and outreach activities to foster public participation in cleanliness initiatives.

The campaign will be implemented in two phases: a Preparatory Phase (September 15–30, 2025) to set targets and groundwork, followed by the Implementation Phase (October 2–31, 2025) focusing on execution and monitoring outcomes.

The Ministry of Steel remains committed to setting higher benchmarks in cleanliness, sustainability, and citizen-centric governance through this initiative.
