TCS Olympus is one of the key projects for PTSI. "It has been a challenging project as far as its time-line is concerned, which was clear from the very beginning," says Sachin Patil, Manager-Sales & Marketing, PTSI. He shares more on the company's experience of working on the project. Tell us about your experience of working on the TCS project. We were able to achieve the speed of construction to meet the expected timeline of Hiranandani Group, and at the same time, could consistently maintain the quality in our services, material and all related aspects of design and other construction activities catered by us. The quality standards maintained by the Hiranandani Group is fascinating. We received great support from their project team, and indeed it turned out to be a great team work. For us, it has been a great opportunity to present our expertise and offer many value-engineered solutions as and when we were asked for. What was your offering to this project, and in what quantity? The geometry of framing suggested was a flat slab floor system. Such floor system provides several aspects such as quick and easy shuttering, and reinforcement placement is also easier and faster than the most common configuration of beam grids. P-T cable installation was also made faster. Such selection helps to shorten the construction cycle and overall completion within the defined timeline. We have implemented some solutions that helped make it a truly value-engineered building. Elaborate on the benefits of your offerings. Time constraint; aesthetically fine geometry; economical solution. It is difficult to satisfy this trio all together and we are glad that we were able to achieve it for the project. Time was the main concern for the project team from the first meeting itself; we understood that the essence of this project is time. The suggested flat slab option not only satisfied the time criteria, but also provided more choices for utilities and services. We do not provide just material; we provide a design-build well-engineered technology. Seeing the call of the moment, we put the best foot forward by focusing on quality of our design, materials and services. We have a quality division that is committed to provide refined material. Quality is watched out at every stage of our offerings such as its engineering and design, materials, fabrication, operations such as material handling, installation, stressing, etc. Any particular USP of your offering that you would like to share with us? Faster installation and execution is the key USP of unbonded post-tensioning system, which leads to quicker slab-to-slab construction cycle. The flat slab geometry not only gives a better clear height but also makes execution of other utilities easier. Quality is another important aspect for our services. It is an ongoing and continuous process for us, which excels us in our field. How did your services contribute to the successful completion of the project, within a record 18 months? Considering the defined timeline for completing the project, we worked out a definite scheduling of every small activity and related planning, so that the work flows in a well-defined manner and with smoothness. We had stationed a specific team of field staff for this project. We had prepared a macro and micro planning, bar charts, etc, with plan B alternatives in case of any unforeseen matters. This approach led us to cater the best services for the project.
