AAI to continue cargo ops of Jaipur airport after Adani takeover

The Adani Group is taking over the working operations of Jaipur International Airport from October 12. The observation began on August 12, and a few officials from the private firms took part in the functioning of the airport.

While the airport is likely to witness development changes after the Adani Group takes over, the private group would have to construct their cargo terminal as the current one would proceed to be operated by Allied Services Limited (AAICLAS) and AAI Cargo Logistics.

At present, the Jaipur airport has 250 workers. The Adani Group would hire 150 of them. The private group would have to pay Rs 174 for the departure of one passenger and arrival for domestic operations.

Whereas for every international arrival and departure of the passenger, the firm would have to pay Rs 348.

Adani Group deposited Rs 1,000 crore as security for half a dozen airports.

According to the contract, the airport is on lease to the private group for 50 years, and they can make infrastructural changes as per the needs.

An official of Jaipur airport told the media that over the years, the Adani Group can do construction inside the airport as they like. The new cargo terminal would be under AAICLAS.
