Noida Airport Inks Partnership with IGL for Sustainable Infrastructure

Noida International Airport (NIA) has teamed up with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to set up Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure, furthering its commitment to sustainable transport. As part of the partnership, IGL will build two CNG stations—one in the west precinct and another in the airside area—to serve travellers, staff, and airport partners. IGL will also develop the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network at the airport, ensuring easy access to the CNG stations. Additionally, the collaboration will include the installation of pipeline infrastructure to supply piped natural gas (PNG) to F&B outlets, lounges, and kitchens in the terminal and other airport buildings. This initiative is in line with NIA’s goal of creating an environmentally conscious and energy-efficient airport, providing sustainable transport solutions for passengers, staff, and partners. In its first phase, the airport will be able to handle 12 million passengers annually with one runway and terminal. By the fourth phase, it will be capable of managing 70 million passengers a year, positioning it as a major regional hub.
