VinFast Enters Indonesia E-Scooter Market, Signs Dealer MoUs

VinFast has officially entered Indonesia’s e-scooter market after signing Memoranda of Understanding with a network of strategic local dealers, marking a key step in the company’s international expansion of electric two-wheelers.

VinFast has partnered with K3, Citra Abadi Sedaya, PT Bevos Auto Mandiri, PT Sapta Jaya, MotorArt, PT Sinergies Dua Kawan and PT HINU, all of which have established experience in automobile and motorcycle distribution. The company said the partners bring strong market knowledge and operational capabilities aligned with VinFast’s retail and service standards.

The company plans to begin rolling out its distribution network in the Jabodetabek region from the second quarter of 2026, followed by phased expansion across other parts of Indonesia. VinFast will introduce a portfolio of battery-swapping e-scooters, including Evo, Feliz II, Flazz and Viper, along with additional models to be launched subsequently. The range has been engineered to suit Indonesia’s tropical climate, dense urban traffic and daily commuting needs.

Over the course of 2026, VinFast aims to scale to hundreds of authorised dealerships and service workshops nationwide. Its Indonesia strategy is built around an integrated ecosystem covering retail, after-sales service, financing solutions, and charging and battery-swapping infrastructure in partnership with V-Green, alongside collaborations with financial institutions.

Indonesia is among the five priority markets identified by VinFast for electric two-wheeler expansion in 2026, alongside the Philippines, India, Thailand and Malaysia. The company has previously signed dealer agreements in the Philippines as part of this roadmap.

Commenting on the development, Ms Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said, “Indonesia is a strategic market in VinFast’s global e-scooter expansion journey. Partnering with leading local dealers reflects confidence in our product quality, service standards and battery-swapping model. We are committed to supporting Indonesia’s transition towards greener and more sustainable mobility.”

VinFast said Indonesia’s large motorcycle base, rapid urbanisation and increasing policy support for cleaner transport create strong potential for e-scooter adoption. The company has been present in Indonesia for two years, during which it has introduced multiple electric vehicle models, commenced operations at its Subang facility, and expanded its dealership, after-sales and charging infrastructure network.
