Road construction has been the biggest driver this year

At bauma 2018, Terex India launched its new tracked conveyor, which can bring significant operating cost savings in crushing plant operations, as well as the all new Conexus sand washing plant. Jaideep Shekhar, Managing Director, Terex India, shares more…

One pathbreaking offering: The tracked conveyor CT 80 is our new product offering to support the customer’s requirements. It can replace a wheel loader in a crushing plant by removing the need for the customer to constantly shift the product stockpiles. The other product on display is the all new Conexus sand washing plant. We have also displayed our versatile Warrior 1200 screen, which is suitable for multiple applications.

Demand drivers in 2019: Road construction has been the biggest driver this year. We foresee the same for the coming year as there are still many new projects to come.

Investment contributing to the company’s growth in 2018: At Terex, we have invested heavily in aftermarket support and services throughout the year and this has been a key driver for customer satisfaction, which has eventually led to growth in business. We will continue to add new parts warehouses in 2019 as well.

Challenge for the company in 2019: Uncertainty in the country’s political situation and the upcoming general elections will be the single biggest challenge for the industry in 2019.

Key strategy to success in 2019: We will continue to invest in our aftermarket capabilities as well as new products suitable for customers in the region. We are also in the process of a major expansion project within our factory in Hosur and we expect that it will include a new paint shop and shot blasting booth, a new machine shop and a new canteen to be completed by early Q3 2019.
