Cable-stayed bridge in Mumbai's western suburbs for connectivity
The primary goal of this project is to increase road connectivity between the western suburbs' Versova, Malad, and Marve neighbourhoods, which are now separated by mangroves, mudflats, and streams. This bridge will cut the travel time between Versova and Madh island in half. At the moment, travelling along SV Road and Link Road takes at least an hour. Travel time may exceed two hours at rush hour.
The bridge will allow for continuous transportation 365 days a year. Because ferry services are frequently unavailable during the monsoon, travellers must travel through Malad by bus, cab, or local train, which significantly lengthens their route.
The bridge would also help to boost the economy of the Madh and Marve areas, which are primarily occupied by fishermen who travel by boat to the fish markets in the Andheri and Dadar districts. This bridge will increase connectivity by expanding their travel alternatives.
