Foundation stone laid for projects worth Rs 2.85 billion in Gujarat

Foundation stone for several infrastructural and development projects worth Rs 2.85 billion has been laid by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Gujarat. The projects are expected to be developed by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority for the newly developed areas near Sardar Patel Ring Road.

The projects are expected to be executed within a span of two years. Besides, as reported, Rupani also initiated the construction of over-bridge for Odhav locality costing Rs 575 million. The foundation stone for an over-bridge at Shanitpura cross roads costing around Rs 941.8 million has also been reportedly laid. Other projects in the pipeline include drainage system, town halls, garden and sports facilities for the residents. The Jal Sanchay Abhiyan, which was launched last year for water conservation, is also expected to start by March 2019.

The government has reportedly invested Rs 1.6 billion for water plant with capacity of 60 MLD for the Bopal-Ghuma residents. Desalination plants have been conceptualised and the government is expected to start the projects on a PPP basis.
