Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, initiated four National Highway projects in India to improve roadconnectivity and promote economic growth. Two of the National Highways were inaugurated, while the other two had their foundation stones laid in the state of Assam. Gadkari inaugurated the four-lane section between Nagaon Bypass- Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara, and also laid the foundation stone for Mangaldai Bypass and the four-lane section between Daboka-Parakhuwa. These projects in Assam have a combined cost of Rs 14.50 billion, indicating a significant investment in the state's road infrastructure. The 18 km long four-lane section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara, costing Rs 4.03 billion, will enhance connectivity between North Assam and Upper Assam. This improved connectivity is expected to boost the state's economy and create new opportunities for the local population.
