Gadkari to inaugurate highway stretch

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, along with Minister of State V K Singh, is scheduled to visit Munnar on October 12 for the formal inauguration of two significant infrastructure projects.

The highlight of this visit will be the inauguration of the impressive 43-kilometer-long Munnar-Bodimettu highway, a substantial infrastructure development that has been meticulously constructed over the course of the past five years. This project promises to bring significant improvements to the region's transportation network.

Additionally, Gadkari is set to inaugurate the new Cheruthoni bridge, which is situated on the Adimaly-Kumily road (NH 185). This bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 17 crore, is expected to enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother travel for the local populace.

The event is anticipated to be attended by prominent dignitaries, including Chief Minister Pinaryi Vijayan, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, PWD Minister PA Mohamed Riyas, Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine, as well as various Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).

According to PWD Assistant Executive Engineer (NH Wing) Rex Felix, it has been communicated that Gadkari is expected to arrive in Munnar at 2 pm on the day of the inauguration. This visit underscores the government's commitment to bolstering infrastructure and connectivity in the region for the benefit of its residents and visitors alike.
