Government Eases Land Rules For Nashik Ring Road Ahead Of Kumbh

The central government has relaxed land acquisition norms for the Nashik Ring Road project ahead of the Kumbh, officials said. The changes are intended to speed up the acquisition process and reduce procedural hurdles affecting land assembly for road corridors. Authorities indicated the move responds to time pressures associated with the large-scale religious gathering and the need to improve regional connectivity.

The relaxation includes procedural simplifications to shorten administrative timelines and greater coordination with state agencies, officials added. Compensation modalities will remain subject to existing statutory frameworks and reviews, but officials signalled that processes will be processed more swiftly where possible. Environmental and statutory clearances will still be required and are being coordinated to run in parallel with acquisition steps.
