MP Approves Rs 25.08 Billion Four-Laning Of Badwah Road

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Monday approved an outlay of Rs 25.08 billion for the widening and upgradation of the Badwah–Dhamnod road into a four-lane highway with paved shoulders.

The 62.8 km project will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model. Briefing the media after the cabinet meeting, Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh said the existing two-lane Badwah–Dhamnod road will be upgraded to four lanes to improve connectivity between two national highways and provide better access to Maheshwar. The Madhya Pradesh Road Transport Corporation will execute the project.

According to the minister, 40 per cent of the project cost will be funded initially through the State Highway Fund, while the remaining 60 per cent will be met from the state budget over a 15-year period.

In another key decision, the cabinet approved the continuation of the ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0’ scheme for an additional five years. The extension aligns with the Centre’s guidelines for the 16th Finance Commission period, covering 2026–27 to 2030–31.
