Uttar Pradesh Launches Rs 6,124 Cr Road Projects

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced an investment of Rs 6,124 crore for 62 new road infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing traffic congestion across the state. The initiative includes the construction of ring roads, bypasses, flyovers, and underpasses, particularly in densely populated urban centers like Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Agra, Bareilly, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. These projects are part of a broader strategy to integrate national highways with expressways and key state roads, facilitating smoother and safer travel. Additionally, the plan supports the development of industrial parks and logistics hubs to bolster economic activity, contributing to the state's goal of achieving a USD 1 trillion economy.

Meghalaya CM Inaugurates Hubert Rosario Road
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the 1.13 km Hubert Rosario Road in Spein, Mookaswan, West Jaintia Hills. He also emphasized the government's commitment to healthcare, allocating over ₹1,000 crore annually, and plans to support traditional healing systems by integrating indigenous knowledge into formal healthcare.

Delhi Launches Rs 600 Cr Najafgarh Drain Road Project
The Delhi government has launched a Rs 600 crore project to construct 60.77 km of two-lane roads along both banks of the Najafgarh Drain (Sahibi River), aiming to enhance connectivity and transform the area into a green corridor. The development includes a 5.94 km stretch from Jhatikra Bridge to Chhawla Bridge and a 54.83 km segment from Chhawla Bridge to Basaidarapur Bridge. This initiative will link key arterial roads such as the Inner and Outer Ring Roads, Pankha Road, Dwarka Expressway, and Najafgarh Road, improving access for areas like Punjabi Bagh, Paschim Vihar, Nilothi, Baprola, and Dwarka.

Bihar Plans Four-Lane Patna-Rajgir Highway
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced the expansion of the existing two-lane Salepur–Narsanda–Telmar–Karauta road into a four-lane highway, enhancing connectivity between Patna and Rajgir. This upgraded route, part of the proposed Salepur–Rajgir Buddha Circuit, aims to reduce travel time and boost tourism to the historic town of Rajgir. An elevated road over a railway crossing is also planned to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow. The project is expected to significantly improve infrastructure and promote regional development.

Centre Approves Six-Lane Upgrade for Hyderabad's Regional Ring Road
The Central government has approved upgrading the northern segment of Hyderabad's Regional Ring Road (RRR) from a four-lane to a six-lane expressway. This 161.5 km stretch, connecting Sangareddy to Choutuppal, was initially tendered in December 2024 with an estimated cost of Rs 5,554 crore. In response to the upgrade, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is revising the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and conducting new traffic studies. Existing bidders will be asked to update their proposals accordingly. Land acquisition for this segment is nearly complete, with costs shared equally between the state and central governments. The project aims to accommodate anticipated traffic volumes and is slated for completion within two years, followed by a five-year maintenance period.
