Ministry of Railways launches seven more bullet train projects

The Ministry of Railways has launched seven more bullet train projects, comprising the one between New Delhi to Ayodhya, alongside the already ongoing Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Railway Project

The senior railway authority reiterated that just like China, India additionally aims to operate on the Chinese lines by linking all its significant cities with high-speed bullet trains. With the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, Mumbaikars will additionally obtain a direct linkage to the industrial city of Nagpur.

A team of experts from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation is additionally making the DPR of the 766 km route of the same project.

According to the railway officials, preliminary surveys for the feasibility of the corridor have been achieved. Additionally, the ministry has verified that linking Varanasi to New Delhi with High-Speed Bullet Train would be their priority project.

Sushma Gaur, additional General Manager Public Relations, National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited, affirmed that the Railway ministry had given the responsibility of making DPR’s for the seven new Bullet Train Projects to NHSRCL. The New Delhi-Varanasi (including Ayodhya) is one of the seven planned high-speed bullet train projects.

Proposed New Bullet Train projects are Delhi-Ahmedabad (866 km), Delhi-Varanasi (covering Ayodhya), Chennai-Mysore (435 km), Delhi-Amritsar (459 km), Mumbai-Nagpur (740 km), Varanasi-Howrah (760 km), and Mumbai-Hyderabad (711 km).
