UPMRCL had invited bids for the consultancy assignment with a contract duration of 1,825 days. Technical bids were opened on 28 October 2025, with two firms participating. The scope also includes a car maintenance depot and stabling lines at Vasantkunj, Lucknow.

Lucknow Metro Phase 1B comprises a single corridor of 11.165 km, extending from Charbagh Railway Station to Vasant Kunj, integrating both elevated and underground sections. The project received Union Cabinet approval in August and is estimated to cost Rs 58,010 million.
