PM Modi flags off 9 Vande Bharat trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off nine Vande Bharat trains, a move set to enhance rail connectivity to religious and tourist destinations in 11 Indian states. These new trains, expected to be the fastest on their respective routes, will significantly reduce travel times for passengers. PM Modi highlighted the growing popularity of Vande Bharat trains, with over 1.11 crore passengers having already travelled on them. The routes covered by these trains include Udaipur-Jaipur, Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Vijayawada-Chennai, Patna-Howrah, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri, Ranchi-Howrah, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad.

Compared to existing train services on these routes, the Vande Bharat trains will offer significantly faster travel times. For instance, the journey between Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, and Puri will be shortened by approximately three hours, and travel time between Hyderabad and Bengaluru will be reduced by over 2.5 hours. The inauguration of these trains is expected to boost rail connectivity and improve tourism across the country.
