PM Modi flags off 9 Vande Bharat trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off nine Vande Bharat trains, a move set to enhance rail connectivity to religious and tourist destinations in 11 Indian states. These new trains, expected to be the fastest on their respective routes, will significantly reduce travel times for passengers. PM Modi highlighted the growing popularity of Vande Bharat trains, with over 1.11 crore passengers having already travelled on them. The routes covered by these trains include Udaipur-Jaipur, Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Vijayawada-Chennai, Patna-Howrah, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri, Ranchi-Howrah, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad.

Compared to existing train services on these routes, the Vande Bharat trains will offer significantly faster travel times. For instance, the journey between Rourkela, Bhubaneswar, and Puri will be shortened by approximately three hours, and travel time between Hyderabad and Bengaluru will be reduced by over 2.5 hours. The inauguration of these trains is expected to boost rail connectivity and improve tourism across the country.

Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat: This train will pass through Tatanagar and make stops at Muri, Purulia, Chandil, and Kharagpur, enhancing connectivity in the region.

Indore-Jaipur Vande Bharat: Indore will receive another Vande Bharat Express route to Jaipur, improving rail connectivity between these cities.

Bengaluru-Hyderabad: The Bengaluru-Hyderabad Vande Bharat Express will cover the 610 km distance in just eight and a half hours, with stops at Mahabubnagar, Kurnool City, Anantapur, Dhone, and Dharmavaram.

Tirunelveli-Chennai: Travel time between Tirunelveli and Chennai will be reduced to less than eight hours.

Chennai-Vijayawada: This train will offer a quicker journey between Chennai and Vijayawada, covering a distance of 516.6 km in six hours and 40 minutes.

These additions to the Vande Bharat Express network aim to revolutionize rail travel in India, providing faster and more efficient connectivity between states and important destinations while enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
