Work begins on 7 new ROBs across Bihar

Seven Rail Over Bridges (ROBs) announced by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his Pragati Yatra are now set to take off, with administrative approval already granted by the Road Construction Department. Cost-sharing agreements for five of these ROBs have also been finalised between the Bihar government and Indian Railways.

In the Gorakhpur Railway Division, an ROB will come up on NH-89 between Siwan Yard and Panchrukhi station. The project is pegged at Rs 921.6 million, with both the state and Railways contributing about Rs 460.8 million each.

Two ROBs are lined up under the Sonpur Division. One will be built between Turki and Ramdayalu Nagar on the Muzaffarpur–Hajipur route at a cost of Rs 2.48 billion—Rs 2.03 billion from the state and Rs 440 million from the Railways. The second will connect Muzaffarpur and Ramdayalu Nagar on the Madipur–Dumri line, with a budget of Rs 1.67 billion.
