According to the company, the contracted platforms—Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet and Cleaver—have been developed to meet urgent operational requirements across varied terrains and mission profiles. The systems are designed for rapid induction while maintaining reliability and scalability.

Omega One was showcased during the Army Day Parade in Jaipur on 15 January, mounted on an upgraded BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle. Bharat Forge said the induction highlights its focus on delivering indigenous solutions aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, supported by expanded domestic production capacity to meet tight delivery timelines.

The company added that its unmanned portfolio is evolving rapidly, with advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making increasingly integrated across platforms. These capabilities are intended to enhance mission endurance, precision, survivability and adaptability in contested and dynamic operational environments.

Commenting on the development, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director, said the twin milestones of securing EP-VI contracts and showcasing Omega One at Army Day reaffirm Bharat Forge’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said the company was proud to equip the armed forces with India-specific, electronic-warfare-resistant, home-grown unmanned systems.

Separately, last month the Ministry of Defence awarded Bharat Forge a Rs 16.61 billion contract to supply more than 0.255 million Close Quarter Battle carbines to the Indian Army.

The aerospace division of Bharat Forge Limited has secured defence contracts worth around Rs 3 billion under the government’s Emergency Procurement–VI (EP-VI) framework. The orders, placed for the Indian Army and for end use by the Indian Navy, cover a range of indigenous unmanned systems, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms and loitering munitions.
