GSL Launches Sixth Indigenous Patrol Vessel for ICG

Reaffirming India’s maritime strength and self-reliance in shipbuilding, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) launched the ICGS Atal (Yard 1275), a Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), at a ceremony in Vasco-da-Gama, Goa, on 29 July 2025. Speaking at the launch, Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, Chairman & Managing Director of GSL, stated, “The launch of ICGS Atal exemplifies the dedication of Team GSL to indigenisation and innovation in shipbuilding, even in the face of global supply chain challenges.”
Shri Rozy Agarwal, Principal Internal Financial Advisor at Coast Guard Headquarters and the event’s Chief Guest, commended GSL’s strong execution and its essential contribution to strengthening India’s maritime security.
Senior representatives from the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Ministry of Defence, industry partners, and GSL were also present at the ceremony.
