India, Israel To Deepen Long-Term Defence Cooperation

Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh met with Major General (Res) Amir Baram, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defence, in New Delhi on 23 July 2025 to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation with a long-term strategic outlook. Both sides agreed to develop an institutional framework to deepen collaboration across key defence sectors.
The Israeli official condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and expressed Israel’s full support for India’s efforts in combating terrorism. In response, Defence Secretary Singh reaffirmed India’s zero tolerance policy on terrorism and condemned the 7 October 2023 terror attacks in Israel, urging the release of all hostages.
The two delegations reviewed progress on ongoing defence projects discussed during the previous Joint Working Group meeting held in July 2024.
Major General Baram’s visit marks a significant milestone in advancing India-Israel defence ties and underscores the shared commitment to enhancing their strategic partnership.
