Logistics Disruptions Affect June Export Growth: FIEO

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has noted that logistics disruptions in June significantly impacted India's export growth, reflecting ongoing challenges in the global supply chain. These disruptions, stemming from various factors including port congestion, shipping delays, and logistical bottlenecks, have posed hurdles for exporters across different sectors.

June typically sees a surge in export activities, but this year, the sector faced considerable obstacles due to operational inefficiencies and logistical constraints. The disruptions have affected shipment schedules, delayed deliveries, and increased transportation costs, thereby dampening the momentum of export growth during the month.

FIEO emphasised the urgent need for coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to address these challenges and restore normalcy in logistics operations. Measures such as streamlining customs procedures, enhancing port capacities, and optimising transportation networks are crucial to mitigating future disruptions and supporting export-led growth.

The export sector plays a vital role in India's economy, contributing significantly to employment and foreign exchange earnings. Addressing logistical disruptions effectively is essential to maintaining India's competitiveness in global markets and sustaining export momentum amid evolving trade dynamics.
