UP govt to launch drinking water schemes in 50,000 villages

Following the inauguration of the Tarkulani regulator pump station from the campus of Adarsh Inter College Belwa in Gorakhpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath confirmed that drinking water projects will begin in 50,000 villages across Uttar Pradesh by December.

People demanded a regulator at Tarkulani pump station in 2009, when the Khorabar area became a part of the Gorakhpur parliamentary area, according to the CM.

The regulator, which has been operational since today, is capable of pumping out all of the water from Ramgarhtal Lake. A regulator with such a large capacity will aid in the prevention of waterlogging in the area, providing relief to the residents.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fertiliser plant in October. The CM added that the Ramgarhtal area was once a crime hotspot, but it has since been transformed into a tourist destination.

The entire world has been infected with Covid-19 for the past 16 months, causing both health and financial problems. Good work has been done in dealing with the Covid pandemic under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.

The Jal Shakti ministry said that 99 irrigation projects are being implemented across the country to irrigate 30 lakh hectares of land.

According to the ministry, Saryu, Badh Ganga, and Madhya Ganga projects in Uttar Pradesh will be completed in three months and that drinking water projects under the Har Ghar Jal scheme will benefit 97,000 villages.
