Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) under a joint Zero Waste Management CSR initiative. This partnership will focus on decentralized plastic waste management at the ward level and promote 100 per cent segregation and recycling practices in the city. The initiative will be carried out under PCMC’s Zero Waste Management through CSR Program and Bisleri’s long-running campaign, Bottles for Change. The partnership will aim to:

  • Promote 100 per cent source segregation,
  • Establish community-level awareness programs,
  • Support a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) within PCMC limits.
The goal is to collect and recycle 360 metric tonnes of plastic waste annually over the next three years, diverting it from landfills and integrating it into a circular economy model.

K. Ganesh, Director at Bisleri International, highlighted the project’s alignment with Bisleri’s environmental goals: "This collaboration shows how community engagement can lead to measurable environmental impact. By spreading awareness and establishing collection systems, we can prevent plastic from reaching landfills and reinforce a circular economy.”

"Through this partnership, we aim to empower slum communities with tools and awareness for responsible waste management, driving both environmental and public health improvements."

Sachin Pawar, Deputy Commissioner (Health), added: "The Bottles for Change campaign will support our efforts to educate citizens and promote segregation. We expect this partnership to deliver meaningful improvements in urban cleanliness and sustainability."

Shekhar Singh, Commissioner, PCMC, reaffirmed the city’s broader mission: "We’re committed to making Pimpri-Chinchwad a model of zero-waste living. This project, across all eight zones, will create scalable systems for responsible plastic management."
