BIRG to bridge infra deficit

As part of the Centre’s drive to bridge the infrastructure deficit, a British-India Road Group (BIRG) on construction and investment concessions in roads sector in India has been formed. The entire project would need Rs 1.85 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore over the next four years of which about Rs 46 crore a year of investment is required from the private sector.
