Knauf India unveils DewBloc: a breakthrough in moisture-resistant interiors

Knauf India, the world’s leading provider of drywall and ceiling solutions, has introduced DewBloc Gypsum Plasterboard, a next-generation product engineered to meet the growing demand for moisture-resistant interiors. This innovative solution is designed with a specially formulated gypsum core that includes moisture-repelling additives, offering superior resistance to moisture absorption and infiltration compared to conventional materials. Lightweight and easy to install, DewBloc combines practicality with design versatility, enabling architects and builders to achieve elevated aesthetics without compromising on performance.
DewBloc has been tested and certified per IS 2095 (Part 1): 2023 Type H2 and BS EN 520:2004 standards, underscoring its premium quality. Crafted from sustainable materials, it also supports the development of energy-efficient buildings, making it suitable for both residential and commercial applications.
The product serves as an ideal moisture-resistant solution for internal applications in wet areas, including drywalls, false ceilings, and wall linings. It offers enhanced protection by resisting moisture absorption and infiltration more effectively than traditional drywall systems. Owing to its lightweight composition, DewBloc ensures faster installation and quicker turnaround times. It is also manufactured using sustainable and environmentally responsible materials, making it an eco-friendly choice. Additionally, DewBloc’s versatile design capabilities make it suitable for elevating the aesthetics of a wide range of indoor spaces.
Speaking about the launch, Sumit Bidani, CEO of Knauf India, said, “The launch of DewBloc Gypsum Plasterboard underscores our commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the Indian construction industry. Designed to combine strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal, DewBloc addresses a critical industry challenge—moisture damage in interiors. It is especially well-suited for wet area applications and offers reliable performance during the monsoon season.”
Knauf continues to set the benchmark in construction materials with cutting-edge, sustainable, and purpose-driven innovations. The introduction of DewBloc marks a significant step forward in delivering high-performance solutions for the built environment.
