Vishnusurya Secures Rs 1 Billion Contract for Chennai Desalination Plant

Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Ltd, a construction and infrastructure company specialising in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), has secured a Rs 1.03 billion contract from JWIL Infra Ltd, a water management firm offering comprehensive solutions.
The contract involves laying, testing, and commissioning pipelines, along with necessary civil works, for a proposed 400 million litre per day desalination plant at Perur near Chennai, Vishnusurya Projects stated in a press release on Saturday. The project timeline is 17 months.
The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board awarded JWIL Infra the contract to establish the desalination plant, which will serve approximately 2.27 million people across Tambaram and 20 surrounding village panchayats near Chennai.
Vishnusurya Projects and Infrastructure Ltd CEO and Whole-time Director, V Sanal Kumar, expressed satisfaction at winning the contract, emphasising the company's role in a social cause to provide potable drinking water through this initiative.
He also noted that the company has previously secured similar contracts for enhancing water supply distribution systems in Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu.
