UltraTech Cement net up 14% on better realisation

UltraTech Cement has reported a 14 per cent increase in net profit in the June quarter on the back of higher production and better realisation. The company’s cement and clinker production was up 5 per cent at 9.94 mn tonne, while that of white cement and wall-care putty jumped 17 per cent to 2.25 lakh tonne. Overall expenditure was up 18 per cent at Rs 4,011 crore against Rs 3,386 crore recorded last year. The variable cost rose by 10 per cent mainly due to higher energy cost and other raw material prices.
