Nagpur Municipal Corporation has suspended cementconcrete road projects worth `9 billion amid water shortages following inadequate rainfall. The decision affects Phase 5 of the city’s road-concretisation programme, covering 265 roads spanning approximately 900.22 km. Initially planned for 135 roads, the programme was expanded following proposals from legislators and corporators. With district rainfall at an 18-year low and reservoir levels around 58 per cent, the civic administration has prioritised drinking water supplies.
