Coal India’s April Offtake Declines 1.2% to 63.4 MT

Coal India Limited (CIL), the state-owned coal mining enterprise, reported a 1.2 per cent decline in coal offtake in April 2025. The offtake stood at 63.4 Mn tonnes, down from 64.2 Mn tonnes in the same month last year, according to a regulatory filing. Looking ahead, CIL has set a production target of 875 Mn tonnes and an offtake goal of 900 Mn tonnes for 2025–26, reaffirming its pivotal role in India’s power and energy sectors.
