Coal India's Apr-Nov production rises 17 pc to 412.6 MT

CIL, a state-owned company, said it produced 412.6 million tonnes of coal from April to November of this fiscal year and expressed confidence that it will exceed the output target set for the current fiscal year. The PSU produced 353.4 MT from April to November of the previous fiscal year.

Coal India (CIL), which accounts for more than 80% of domestic coal output, expects to produce 700 million tonnes (MT) in the current fiscal year.

To meet its output target for the current fiscal, the coal behemoth must produce 287.4 MT of coal during the remaining four months of the current fiscal. The PSU produced 60.7 MT of coal last month, registering a growth of 12.8 per cent over the corresponding month of the previous fiscal.
