REIL invites bids for 200,000 mono, multicrystalline solar cells

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) to provide 200,000 multi-crystalline or monocrystalline 4.57 Watt silicon solar cells. According to REIL's requirements, the quantity of the cells can be increased or decreased.

The deadline for the submission of bids is 27 August 2021, and the opening date of the bids is August 28.

The bidders must quote the fixed prices for the whole contract period on freight on-road (FOR) Kanakpura, Jaipur, or on the import cost on a free on board (FOB) port basis.

The period of the contract will be up to 31 October 2021. The shipments should be made in one or two lots within two weeks from the delivery clearance of REIL. REIL can extend the delivery period if required.

The bidder must be a sole proprietorship firm, a joint venture, a company or a partnership firm. The domestic manufacturers will be given preference provided they meet the quality standards and specifications.

25% of the quantity is earmarked for medium and small enterprises (MSEs) under the tender. Out of the 25% tendered quantity reserved for the suppliers of MSE, 20% would be earmarked for procurement from MSEs that Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs own.

Vendors who did not supply these cells before should submit a sample of 140 numbers of each watt of solar cells free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance before the due date of the tender.

According to the production or project requirement, REIL reserves the right to split the quantity and award between two or more vendors.

A new vendor can be considered for trial order provided the sample and compliance with the terms and conditions are approved. The orders will be released based on the performance of the trial order.

In case the delivery is not made by the specified date, then the vendor will have to pay liquidated damages at 1% of the value of the items per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the unit delivered price of each delayed unit.
