Government to invite bids for up to 12 UMPPs

The government will invite bids for 8-12 ultra mega power projects (UMPPs) with a total capacity of 48,000 MW in the next two years. Reportedly, bids for four UMPPs will be invited in the next three-to-six months. These projects will be based in Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.
