Adani Power Subsidiary Wins 558 MW PPA

Adani Power said its subsidiary Moxie Power Generation Limited has received a Letter of Award from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited for the supply of 558 megawatts (MW) net of power under a power purchase agreement (PPA) for five years. The company said the contract was awarded following a competitive bidding process and that supply is scheduled to begin on one April 2026. Adani Power described the LoA as part of its strategy to secure long term contracts across its operating portfolio.

Moxie Power operates a 1,200 MW power plant at Tuticorin comprising two units of 600 MW each, both of which now have power supply agreements in place. It emerged as the lowest bidder with a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit, a level the company said would support competitive supply to the distribution utility. The award brings medium term visibility for the Tuticorin facilities and aligns with operational schedules at the plant.

Adani Power noted that more than 95 per cent of its total operating capacity is secured with medium to long term contracts, providing significant revenue visibility and reducing exposure to short term market volatility. The firm stated that it is aiming to achieve almost 100 per cent PPA tie up for all operational and under commissioning plants in the coming years. Management said the PPA strategy is intended to stabilise cash flows and support planned investments across the generation portfolio.

The agreement is expected to provide Tamil Nadu consumers with an additional 558 MW of reliable power, enhance grid stability and support uninterrupted supply to households, businesses and industries. Securing capacity at a competitive tariff is likely to contribute to more affordable and dependable energy for the region in the years ahead. Adani Power, a part of the Adani portfolio, is the largest private thermal power producer in India with an installed thermal power capacity of 18,110 MW spread across multiple states and a 40 MW solar plant in Gujarat.
