Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Approves 25 Projects Worth Rs 2 Trillion

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved 25 major projects involving investments worth about Rs two trillion (Rs 2 tn). The approvals cover a range of industrial, clean energy, healthcare and infrastructure initiatives across the State. The government said the package would generate substantial employment opportunities across multiple sectors. The meeting was held at the Secretariat and considered proposals related to large-scale industrial projects, infrastructure expansion and horticulture development.

The Cabinet cleared major industrial investments by Reliance Industries, Apollo Tyres, Royal Enfield and Carrier Airconditioning, among others. Proposals include solar manufacturing, artificial intelligence data centres, automobile production and air conditioning units with total commitments exceeding about Rs one point two trillion (Rs 1.2 tn). Officials described the investments as likely to strengthen manufacturing and clean energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh. The approvals were presented as part of a wider push to attract private capital and boost regional growth.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of AP FIRST in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati (IIT-Tirupati) and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) to promote innovation and advanced technology. It also cleared a defence research and development facility in Amaravati and sanctioned Rs 7,903.8 million (Rs 7,903.8 mn) for Madakasira Branch Canal expansion works. Ministers indicated the infrastructure allocations aim to support irrigation and strategic research capabilities. The package was described as encompassing both economic and social development priorities.

Health measures cleared by the Cabinet included 904 Mobile Medical Units under the 104 Diagnostic Programme and approval of the Sanjeevani digital healthcare system to strengthen public health services. Agriculture approvals comprised the Integrated Horticulture Development Plan with an estimated outlay of nearly Rs one trillion (Rs 1 tn) to develop Rayalaseema as a horticulture hub. The Cabinet presented the measures as intended to enhance service delivery and create livelihoods. Officials said further project details would be rolled out by respective departments.
