Bharat Electronics Limited Awards Rs 19.2 Million Power Amplifier Order to Avantel

Bharat Electronics (BEL) has awarded Avantel (Avantel) an order worth Rs 19.2 million (mn) for the supply of power amplifiers, reinforcing domestic defence electronics capacity. The order is slated for execution by September 2026 and forms part of the ongoing business engagement between the two companies in the defence electronics segment. The contract covers manufacturing and supply activities and includes a performance bank guarantee of five per cent, indicating standard contractual safeguards.

Avantel described the order as domestic in nature and clarified that it does not constitute a related party transaction, reinforcing its independent commercial standing. The development strengthens Avantel's presence in India’s defence and strategic electronics sector, where emphasis on indigenous manufacturing and technology development has been growing. The order provides a near-term revenue opportunity for the company and aligns with broader industry trends supporting local suppliers.

BEL has been actively partnering with Indian technology companies to support the government’s Make in India and defence indigenisation initiatives, signalling continued public sector support for local industry. The contract award to Avantel follows a series of collaborations aimed at enhancing domestic supply chains and reducing reliance on imports for critical defence electronics. Such contracts contribute to capability building among small and medium suppliers and promote long-term self-reliance.

The order is part of a broader pattern of procurement by state-owned enterprises intended to bolster strategic manufacturing capacity and encourage investment in research and development. Execution milestones and quality standards will be monitored under contract terms, providing a framework for timely delivery and performance verification. The contract contributes to increased domestic sourcing and further expansion of the defence electronics ecosystem.
