Cyient Semiconductors Invests USD 85 Million In Kinetic Technologies

Cyient Semiconductors has completed a USD 85 million majority-stake investment in Kinetic Technologies, bringing the power semiconductor specialist into its portfolio as a revenue-generating company with over 100 silicon?proven intellectual property assets and more than 250 high?volume custom and ASSP products covering power management, protection, display power and interface solutions. The investment immediately enhances Cyient Semiconductors' product scale, intellectual property depth and international market credibility. It represents a strategic step in building a scalable semiconductor platform anchored in India while addressing global demand.

The combined platform aims to target a global power and compute infrastructure market valued at around USD 44 billion, with a focus on custom silicon and ASSPs. Cyient will leverage its spec-to-silicon engineering expertise alongside Kinetic Technologies' established portfolio to accelerate delivery of advanced intelligent power semiconductor solutions. Kinetic's customer base, engineering teams and commercial operations will remain in place while accessing expanded market reach and increased research and development investment.

Senior executives conveyed that the partnership strengthens engineering capacity and accelerates the research and development roadmap to address complex power challenges in fast growing end markets. Kinetic Technologies will continue under its current leadership with strategic guidance from Cyient while teams remain in their existing roles. The alliance is intended to provide immediate commercial scale in high growth power semiconductor segments and to deepen innovation across product lines. It is expected to enhance the combined companies' ability to serve international customers and to support India’s broader semiconductor ambitions under the India Semiconductor Mission.

The transaction is positioned as a long term alliance to create a modern, scalable semiconductor platform with international relevance and India based operational strength. By combining Cyient Semiconductors' engineering strengths with Kinetic's product portfolio the platform is intended to expand market presence and foster higher value design and manufacturing. The deal signals continued investor interest in power semiconductor technologies and the growing role of India in global semiconductor design ecosystems.

How Hormuz is Hijacking Indian Highways

At the recently held RAHSTA Round Table on 29th April in Pune, and earlier during our webinars for Cement Expo by Indian Cement Review and by FIRST Construction Council on manufacturing construction equipment for the world, one thread lay common: the industry is being subjected to a cost-push chain reaction moving from crude oil → freight/insurance → steel, cement fuel, bitumen, polymers, packaging, logistics and finally project margins. Indeed, the West Asia crisis caused by the war and the Hormuz Strait blockade, which does not directly concern us, has turned around and hit us. If the wa..
