SPML Infra Secures Rs 1.65 Billion Rajasthan Grid Project

SPML Infra has secured a Rs 1.65 billion contract from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for the construction of a 400 kV grid sub-station and associated transmission infrastructure at Dahra in Kota, Rajasthan.

The project, scheduled for completion within 24 months, strengthens the company’s presence in the high-voltage power transmission segment and supports Rajasthan’s expanding energy infrastructure.

The scope of work includes supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the 400 kV grid sub-station with one 500 MVA autotransformer bay, a 420 kV 125 MVAR bus-type shunt reactor bay, two 400 kV feeder bays and three 400 kV tie bays. The project also includes associated civil works, automation and communication systems.

Rajasthan remains one of India’s largest renewable energy producers, with continued investment in grid expansion critical for evacuating and transmitting both renewable and conventional power across the state.

Commenting on the order, Abhinandan Sethi, Managing Director, SPML Infra Limited, said, “Rajasthan is not just expanding its grid, it is reshaping India’s energy landscape. And SPML Infra is proud to be the execution partner powering that ambition.”

The order adds to SPML Infra’s power business portfolio, complementing its battery energy storage systems and broader infrastructure operations across water, power and energy storage sectors.
