EUROBOND Solar Plant Meets 50% of Factory Power Demand

EUROBOND, the flagship brand of Euro Panel Products Limited, has commenced operations at its new 2.2 MW grid-connected solar power facility in Moti Falod, Surat. The commissioning completes the third phase of the company’s multi-year renewable energy expansion and raises its total operational solar capacity to 3.6 MW.

The expanded infrastructure will enable the company to meet 50 per cent of its factory power requirements through captive solar energy, compared with its earlier offset capacity of 20 per cent.

The new plant is expected to generate 3,000,000 units of clean electricity annually. The power will offset the manufacturing facility’s overall energy consumption, reducing dependence on conventional grid electricity and lowering emissions associated with coal-based power generation.

EUROBOND began its solar energy transition with a 520 kW installation in 2020. The capacity was increased to 1.4 MW in 2024 before reaching 3.6 MW following the commissioning of the latest facility.

The renewable energy expansion complements the company’s broader resource-conservation initiatives, including its Zero Liquid Discharge operations. EUROBOND operates in-house sewage and effluent treatment facilities that reclaimed more than 1.32 million litres of treated water during the past six months.

The recycled water is used for gardening, greenbelt maintenance and general facility requirements, ensuring that no industrial wastewater is discharged from the premises.

The company said its clean energy and water-reclamation systems could support architects, developers and project planners seeking measurable environmental benchmarks for green building certifications. The Indian Green Building Council and other green building frameworks increasingly assess the environmental performance and transparency of construction material supply chains.

Divyam Shah, Whole-Time Director and CFO, Euro Panel Products Limited, said the expansion of captive solar infrastructure reflects the company’s long-term focus on responsible manufacturing, operational efficiency and resource conservation.

“Expanding our captive solar infrastructure to 3.6 MW is an important milestone in that journey, strengthening our ability to manufacture more efficiently while reducing our carbon footprint and conserving natural resources,” he said.

The Surat facility forms part of EUROBOND’s wider investment in manufacturing quality and environmental compliance. The company is compliant with Extended Producer Responsibility requirements and is a member of the Indian Green Building Council.

EUROBOND has also expanded the NABL accreditation scope of its in-house laboratory from 16 to 51 parameters. The laboratory now covers testing across coils, coatings, core materials, aluminium composite panels and metal composite panels.

The solar, water-treatment and testing infrastructure is expected to strengthen the company’s data-backed sustainability and manufacturing standards.
