Electromech Enters Semiconductor Infrastructure Sector

Electromech Infraprojects has entered India’s semiconductor infrastructure sector, expanding its engineering and project delivery capabilities into one of the country’s emerging strategic industries. The company will leverage its experience in data centres, industrial projects and mission-critical infrastructure to support the specialised requirements of semiconductor manufacturing, OSAT, ATMP and allied electronics facilities.

The move comes as India accelerates efforts to develop a domestic semiconductor ecosystem, where advanced infrastructure plays a critical role across fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging and electronics manufacturing facilities. Semiconductor projects require highly integrated engineering systems and stringent operating conditions to ensure reliability and precision.

Electromech will bring its expertise in integrated MEP engineering, critical power systems, precision HVAC, utilities, project management, testing and commissioning to the semiconductor segment. The company will continue developing sector-specific capabilities to address the unique requirements of semiconductor facilities.

“India’s semiconductor opportunity is no longer only about building fabs and assembly facilities; it is about creating the infrastructure ecosystem capable of supporting them to global standards. These facilities demand far greater precision in power quality, thermal management, environmental control and integrated engineering than conventional industrial projects,” said Varun Maniar, Managing Director, Electromech Infraprojects.

Electromech has delivered more than 600 projects across industrial, manufacturing, logistics, commercial and mission-critical environments, with experience supporting over 350 MW of IT load. Its integrated project delivery capabilities include BIM-led design coordination, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), prefabrication, modularisation and digital project tracking.

The company operates a manufacturing footprint of more than 2 lakh sq ft across Mumbai and Hyderabad, enabling greater coordination between engineering, manufacturing and project execution. With its entry into the semiconductor sector, Electromech aims to build specialised capabilities to support the growth of semiconductor and electronics manufacturing infrastructure in India.
