India Pursues Cross-Border Power Grid Deals

India is currently in discussions with Gulf and Asian nations to establish cross-border power grid links as part of the One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative. This ambitious project aims to create a global solar grid that can share clean, renewable energy across regions, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting sustainable energy practices.

The initiative is seen as a transformative step toward India’s leadership in the global renewable energy sector. By connecting its power grid with neighboring countries, India plans to enable energy exchange, especially from solar energy, to meet the growing power demands in the region. This cross-border collaboration aligns with India’s commitments to reduce its carbon footprint and transition to cleaner energy sources.

Under OSOWOG, India is working with countries across the Gulf and Asia, who have abundant solar energy potential, to tap into their renewable resources.
