Premier Energies secures Rs 17-bn solar module deal with NTPC

Premier Energies, a manufacturer of integrated solar cells and modules, announced that it had received a solar modules supply order of 608 megawatts (MW) from NTPC. The order, valued at approximately Rs 17 billion, pertains to the provision of bifacial solar modules for NTPC's Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan. According to the official press release, the completion of the supply is expected within a nine-month timeframe.

The company, with an annual module capacity of 4 GW and cell capacity of 2 GW, expressed its views on the collaboration with NTPC. Chiranjeev Saluja, the managing director of Premier Energies, stated, "Our collaboration with NTPC is a significant milestone. As a solar pioneer, our journey over the years echoes the story of precision in product quality, consistent performance, and the rock-solid reliability ingrained within our Solar PV Modules."

NTPC, with an installed capacity of 73,824 MW, including joint ventures, has plans to evolve into a 130 GW company by 2032.
