REC's new corporate headquarters, which spans 4.2 acres and includes a plaza and a 400-seat auditorium, is a bioclimatic structure. It is a net-zero building with its own 1 MW rooftop solar plant that has been recognised by the GRIHA summit for Integrated Water Management and Energy Management.

The ministers also released a report on Key Regulatory Parameters of Power Utilities as part of the ongoing Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence. Apart from state-owned transmission and generation utilities, the report captures key regulatory information of DISCOMs.

It will allow for meaningful comparisons of their performance and provide actionable insights for power sector stakeholders such as policymakers and regulators. Benchmarking and comparing key regulatory parameters will also provide a comprehensive picture of how power utilities are performing and the corrective actions that are required.

Singh, the Minister for Power, spoke at the event, congratulating REC on its 52nd Foundation Day and told the media that it had been a glorious journey that REC recently completed the task of connecting every village and hamlet in record time, as well as transforming the power sector.

Through its extensive network of 22 offices across India, Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Power, told the media that REC has been doing vital work in financing the development of the distribution, transmission, generation, and renewable energy sectors.

Singh said that the country has achieved 100% electrification of villages under the DDUGJY scheme. Electrifying 2.81 crore households in record time was a difficult task.

The dignitaries also released a booklet on the achievements of the Government of India's Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) scheme, as well as a compendium on REC's CSR initiatives, at the event.
