RECPDCL Transfers Musalgaon Transmission SPV to MSETCL
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over Musalgaon Power Transmission Limited, a project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL).MSETCL emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for developing Maharashtra’s intra-state transmission project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.The SPV was handed over by Shri Ratnesh Kumar, General Manager (Engineering), RECPDCL, to Shri Amit R. Naik, Chief Engineer (TBCB), MSETCL, in the presence of senior officials from MSETCL, Maharashtra State Transmission Utility (Maharashtra STU) and RECPDCL.The project includes the establishment of a 220/132/33 kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) at Musalgaon, along with a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line of around 111 km connecting Musalgaon with Babhaleshwar and Raymond substations. It also includes a 132 kV double-circuit line of around 13 km from Musalgaon to Sinner, along with associated infrastructure works.The transmission project is scheduled for completion within 12 months and involves an estimated investment of Rs 560 crore. The initiative is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s power transmission network and support the state’s growing electricity infrastructure requirements.
