Tata Power Solaroof Crosses 519,673 Rooftop Solar Installations

Tata Power Solaroof has surpassed 519,673 rooftop solar installations across India as of 31 July 2026, representing a 14 per cent market share and advancing distributed renewable energy in residential, commercial and industrial segments. The business is targeting three million (mn) installations by 2029 as part of a wider growth plan. The milestone was presented as evidence of rising adoption of rooftop solar and customer demand for cost and resilience benefits.

It has facilitated financing worth over Rs 85,000 million (mn), equivalent to Rs 85 bn, through a network of more than 25 financing partners, enabling greater uptake among consumers and enterprises. The company operates more than 700 channel partners and over 250 authorised service partners to provide localised support across consultation, design, installation and after-sales service. This ecosystem is intended to ensure faster deployment and consistent maintenance standards.

Tata Power Solaroof, part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Ltd, offers modules with 25/30-year performance warranties and systems backed by a minimum five-year warranty. Under its Quality Lifelong promise, the firm combines high-efficiency solar modules with financing, insurance protection and structured service commitments to strengthen long-term ownership experience. Service provisions include an initial response to customer requests within two hours and resolution targets within 48 hours to enhance reliability.

The initiative aligns with government rooftop solar ambitions via the Ghar Ghar Solar flagship and the objectives of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Launched in 2024, the programme has expanded to 11 states and one Union Territory, including Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Bihar. The company said the initiative collectively covers a population of over 900 mn and forms part of efforts to scale distributed clean energy.
