UPNEDA Invites Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Systems with Battery Backup

The Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has floated a tender for 2 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with battery backup for captive use in government buildings. The project, estimated at Rs.440 million (~$5.21 million), aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability.

The individual system capacities will range from 11 kW to 50 kW, with a requirement to complete installation within four months of the work order. Bidders must also provide a 10-year operation and maintenance service.

Key Dates and Costs Bid Submission Deadline: November 29, 2024 Bid Opening: November 30, 2024 Tender Document Cost: Rs.11,800 (~$140) Earnest Money Deposit (EMD): 2% of the project cost Security Deposit: 5% of the work order value Eligibility Criteria Bidders must have executed at least 600 kW of rooftop solar projects in the past five years. An average annual turnover of Rs.132 million (~$1.56 million) over the best three financial years in the last five years is mandatory. A positive net worth as of the preceding financial year is required. Valid test reports from authorized labs and compliance with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers are necessary.

Scope of Work The tender covers designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning the solar systems. It includes testing, integrating a remote monitoring system, and ensuring seamless functionality.

This initiative follows UPNEDA's recent tenders for a cumulative 23 MW of on-grid and off-grid rooftop solar projects and its September call for bids for 320 MW ground-mounted solar projects in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh.
