<span style="font-weight: bold;">GHV India operates across the three main business segments of construction, hospitality and information technology.</span> <p></p> <p> India is taking centre stage on the global map. A recent joint report by KPMG and real estate body NAREDCO has revealed that the country's real estate and construction sector is expected to be the third largest globally by 2030, contributing over 15 per cent to the country's GDP. The report also highlights several infrastructure projects in the pipeline such as 432 projects worth Rs 6.5 trillion for roads and 70 projects worth Rs 670 billion for the development of airports, along with many others. </p> <p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Making it big</span><br /> Driving innovation and strategising for growth amid this opportunity is GHV India. It all started for the company in 1965, when founder Hussein Vijapura, who then worked as a milkman in Gujarat, decided to set up GHV. From undertaking road construction, eventually the company ventured into the airport sector and started building runways, parking lots and taxi ways. Further, it went on to undertaking jobs for bridge construction as well as dam and irrigation construction. </p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Zahid Vijapura, Managing Director, GHV India</span>, says, 'With an order book of over Rs 40 billion, today, GHV is among the leading and prominent infrastructure EPC players in India.' He adds, 'We constantly focus on our mission - to be a dynamic team, providing timely delivery of our highest quality construction services.' This has led the company to establish its presence in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala.</p> <p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">The operations</span><br /> Currently, GHV India operates across three main business segments of construction, hospitality and information technology. </p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Construction: </span>The company has about 1,500 km road network across the country, which includes national, state and numerous inter-state highways. It has also added to its portfolio its huge expertise in building state-of-the-art runways, resurfacing, construction of parking bays and taxi ways, all of which enable smooth operations of air traffic. This apart, one of the prime focus areas for the company lies in the maintenance and reconstruction of bridges and flyovers with cutting-edge technology. Further, among the pioneers of irrigation technology in India, the company in JV with several state governments - one being Gujarat's irrigation department - has successfully achieved completion of a number of irrigation projects.</p> <p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Hospitality: </span>With the success of the Hyatt Place in Pune to its credit, GHV India is now building a four-star hotel in association with Radisson in Mumbai, which is expected to be completed in 2018.</p> <p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Information technology (IT): </span><br /> The government has been talking and planning smart through its smart city initiative. In complete sync with the same, GHV is foraying into the IT sector. Through the success of this vertical, the company plans to generate a significant amount of revenue in the coming years. </p> <p> <span style="font-weight: bold;">On track!</span><br /> As part of its construction business, GHV India is currently executing projects under NHAI, IL&amp;FS Transportation Networks, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, Kerala State Transport Project, IRCON, among others. </p> <p>With ongoing projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore, landmark projects completed by the company include the four-laning of the Thalassery-Mahe Bypass section of NH-17 from 170.6 km to 188 km under NHDP Phase-III on EPC mode in Kerala, and balance work of four-laning from 94 km to 123 km of the Nagpur-Hyderabad section of NH-7 in Maharashtra on Item Rate mode. Speaking on his expectations going forward, Zahid Vijapura, says, 'There is plenty of work in India in the coming years, and we have established ourselves well in this market.'</p> <p> (Communication by the management of the company)</p>
